This Wednesday London Sinfonietta, Resident at Southbank Centre, perform a programme of two unconventional tales of long distance love from Gerald Barry and Richard Ayres. This concert is the Saturday Time’s Pick Of The Week, and below the Guardian comment on Ayres’ music:

On Sunday 21st March renowned filmmaker and broadcaster Christopher Nupen comes to Southbank Centre to share his films and memories of Jacqueline du Pré from a close friendship that lasted for 26 years.
Some of his material is world famous, some of it has been seen by very few, but all of it will be presented in new contexts.
This fundraising event on behalf of the charity The London Cello Society, we present an intimate tribute to an artist who remains gloriously vibrant in the public mind.
